How about a picture? This is of my new car :)
I've been keeping reasonably busy over the last few weeks: tidying (yes, all you sceptics, I actually have), volunteering for the church (reception work mainly), and cycling around finding the above car. (Images of me chasing after cars on a bike anyone?)
The gory details are: Fiat Punto, X-reg (late year 2000), 25k miles and 1.2 engine. And it's red, mwahahaha...
(09/10/06)
I've updated the FAQ page, so there's no excuse for you all now!
I'll highlight one little piece of news; that I recieved my degree result today :) and yes I'm more than happy with it :)
My parents are going a little spare over my timescale for room tidyness, so I'll delay tidying this website for a bit, but if you've comments on the design/colour scheme etc, then let me know.
Comments on this website would also be appreciated. I know about the spelling mistakes - they'll be sorted soon :)

Free to a good home:
- 2 x Nokia car charger
- 2 x Nokia hands free (for 6210, but I imagine it'll fit some others)
Reason for availability? I switched to Sony-Ericsson, and am having a clear-out of my room. None of the above listed has ever come out of their packaging. Seems a waste.
P.s I'm back in York.
P.p.s I'll be starting work on the 6th November in Salisbury.

And another long pause :)
I'm currently in Windsor, although I'm moving around the country a fair amount!
The big news is I have a date for both degree results and starting work. I'll be getting my results on the 22nd Sept, and will begin work on the 6th November.
Lots of photos for you to peruse :)
A few Pub Golf pictures;
Photos from a trip to the Stuttgart TV Tower and Mercedes Benz museum;
A walk to a Waterfall and Castle;
A visit to Schwäbisch Gmund;
Sightseeing round Brussels;
A visit to the Military Museum;
The Ferry Trip home;
And a weekend in Whitby.

Long time no write...
Lots of news, which I will hopefully get around to writing up. The short version is:
- My laptop died with a week of uni (and coursework) left. I rented a new one and finished the work.
- Exams went well, project did not.
- My dad drove to Stuttgart in the car and in the space around the cases of wine, my stuff was loaded.
- We drove back to England via Belgium, having a nice relaxed holiday. I managed to recover somewhat from my extreme stress overload.
- I'm now at home (York) sorting my stuff (teenage stuff included, erk), and am currently putting the finishing touches on my last ever piece of Uni work (summary of project).
- Because of my bad project, I alternate between panic (they're going to give me a 2.2!) and calm (they won't punish me for one bad mark, and it was in germany so they'll be nice). Although ultimately, panic doesn't achieve anything, it's now out of my hands!
- Once the work is handed in, I will sort things like laptop, bike and phone contract. And can sit down and get my room looking less like a bomb-site!
And in a classic "Wish I was here" pang of regret, here is a photo of the Aerospace Engineering Graduation Year of 2006. Even if I'm not in it, it's nice to see my friends :)
My remaining Germany photos, and photos from the journey home have yet to be sorted, and I'll bring them to you as soon as they are.
(11/08/06)
So... getting all work finished before I leave is... an interesting proposition. Still, I only have 2 weeks left, so it'll all be over soon.
So what I'm breaking into my work-time to write this for, is to tell you that:
a) I'm leaving Germany on the 1st August
b) Y'all should have got an email from me updating my contact details.
If you haven't recieved one, and feel you should, do email me to complain!

I'm being tardy with updates, mostly because of work, but also a little bit of laziness...
Photos of the football match I went to see on the big screen in Stuttgart centre (England vs. Sweden) on tuesday evening are here.
The few photos I took at Ruth & Stewart's wedding (17th June) are here. Was a beautiful wedding... I almost cried. Was great to see sixthform friends again as well!
(22/06/06)
I took lots of photos on my walk yesterday, so herewith :)
I decided I may as well add my latest poem to the website. It isn't perfect, but neither are the ones already here. Oh, and ps, it's in German...
(07/06/06)
Those of you who read the journal entry before last may remember the fateful words "I'm sure I've forgotten things, so I'll add them later." Well indeedy, I forgot to describe my enlightening trip to see a play called "Der Kick" at the theatre. And yup, I only understood about 30% of what was said. Ah well, I got the gist of the plot... I think...
What jogged my memory, was uploading new photos from my phone to the gallery (new pics starting at the very bottom of the page). More to the point, pictures of the nearby gardens as we waited for the play to start. The place we went was obviously laid out as a theatre, but I'd love to go back when it's a bar - would make a kickass pub, underground brick arches, awesome. There's a picture of it here.

And much jollity was had by all at the Bierlauf yesterday (warning, photos of beer soaked students within). Sponsered by Becks, hosted by the Columbus, 3 people per team, 24 beers, 5.5km... and one unofficial photographer, me. Trouble was, it didn't stop raining all day - my brolly came in handy!
(19/05/06)
Something Roo passed on to me, which I found very interesting, is an article entitled "Worshipping God with Technology" (it's a pdf). It discusses christian attitudes/relationships with Technology, and its role within worship and a christian life. Worth a read.
On a frivalous note, people've asked what my last.fm username is. I'm Songflight, feel free to say hello or comment on my music!
While I'm on the topic of music, interesting things and frivolity... In reading randomly about the new Tool album 10,000 days, I found out that there is a rather amusing backwards message in the 9th track Intension. After listening to it backwards, (and I have to admit, finding from wikipedia when to listen) lo and behold a message:
"Work hard. Stay in school. Listen to your Mother. Your Father is right."
Which is rather different to your usual backwards message ;)
There are rumours it's in response to years of accusations of backwards messages. Anyway, while the track is actually pretty relaxing and chilled played backwards, it's over 7 minutes long. So
here's (mp3: 314KB) the particular snippet with the message. Can you see why I didn't spot it first time round?
You may gather by this, that I have finally recieved my very own copy of 10,000 Days! And that I have, but only after cancelling from cd-wow (who apologised that even though I'd pre-ordered, they'd run out of copies... don't get me started on the idoicy of that statement), and re-ordering with
play.com. Who delivered in 5 days. So *blows a raspberry* to cd-wow.
The album is
amazing. I've heard people say it's hard to get into, but I loved it on the first hearing. Okay, it's not as long as their other albums (which is perhaps surprising as it's been 4 years in the making) but it's still top notch. And very much worth playing loudly on decent speakers :)
Hmm, while we're on the subject of sound clips, I may as well share the clock beeps (wav: 861KB) that play at the end of 24 (tv series), in case anyone sad like me wishes to have them play as Windows shuts down.
Ahem.

I'd just like to take a moment to reflect on the economics of public transport in the UK.
A girl leaves Heathrow Airport on a friday evening, and gets the train through London to York. If the train journey via Manchester takes an hour longer, and costs ten pounds less, would the girl pay more or less if she flew by aeroplane to Manchester and took the train from Manchester to York?
Answer: less. She also gets into york an hour sooner than the train via london.
Please tell me when that starts to make sense.

I've downloaded something called a 'scrobbler' from last.fm, which makes a note of what you're playing and sends it to their website. Okay, sneaky market analysis maybe. But actually very cool, cos it then recommends things (and more to the point, not just mainstream stuff), and I can listen to 'radio' that's tailored to my music tastes. Although because I have such a weird range of tastes, I think it'll have a job!
The above dates are two hours off from current German time, so I guess that makes it one hour off English time.
I've been messing around with formats for the faq section. Let me know what you think of it in its current format - the 'appear then disappear' of the text when it's loading is to cater for people without javascript. Ooh, how very considerate of me...
A very Happy Birthday to Stephanie (for yesterday) :)
(06/05/06)
It being spring and all, there's a big change in the view out of my window - namely leaves on the trees. Just as well, really, cos otherwise my room would be an oven! Pics of a greening campus are few (thanks to exams) however there are a couple here and there.
And I want my Tool CD (10,000 Days) to arrive *pouts* it was released yesterday, so where's mine!? What's the point of pre-ordering if it doesn't arrive on time!!??
So there we have it. Play.com deliver on time, cd-wow don't. Although I went with cd-wow as it was cheaper. Figures.
(02/05/06)
And so the Easter holidays end and the exams (and the next semester!) begin!
Lots of news (mostly told in the journal). My neice Isabelle Fleur James was born on the 8th April. She was 5 weeks early, but is now safetly at home with parents (there are photos if you want to see how adorable she is - just ask me and I'll drop you the link :).
Photos of my trip around sunny England are here.

Lucy Gray's website: Now tested on four different internet browsers.
Lol. Well, I installed Opera because Firefox was leaking memory everywhere, but haven't really started using it much.
One thing new I am using a lot is Programmer's Notepad, which is a text editor that shows syntax etc and, more importantly, is free!
It's been fantastic so far - even enabling the hiding/expanding tags, which is useful when you've got a large table with lots of branches!
The journal page has an update on the job situtation.
(08/04/06)
Well now, it turns out I'm bad at predicting the outcomes of interviews. Qinetiq have offered me a job :) which I am of course very happy about!
Tomorrow morning I'm taking the train to Bristol for the princely sum of £10, leaving me to wonder how exactly train companies make money...
I went into town today (York for those who've not kept abreast of my movements) and took a fair few photos of buildings and the market and etc's like that. I figured if I have a photo record of German towns, why not York?
I didn't make it to the minster and station side of town, so I'll just have to come back! ;)
(31/03/06)
Well, the interview came and went. Time was taking part in a sprint at the time, so the whole day whizzed by. The description is here.
I'm getting a late train to Slough, and have bought a ticket back to York for monday - only ~£20 and it's through london as well, Bargain!
To read on the train I now have What's so Amazing About Grace by Phillip Yancy, a present from Alison. Yay! I've been meaning to read it for ages, and now I can!! :)

And there it is, spring has arrived. Cue itchy feet.
This stunningly gorgeous weather drives me insane. I want to be walking over the moors, not stuck inside doing work! The upshot of which is I spend a lot of time staring out of the window and thinking up excuses to go outside...
Since the weather's cleared, I've been flying my model plane (new one I got for christmas, much smaller than the other one), which is so very fun!
My birthday came, and was a very enjoyable day!
Flat Stanley came to visit, and I took him round Stuttgart and took lots of
photos with him. Although bemused, everyone I asked was more than helpful and willingly allowed me to take a picture of them holding a little cardboard cut-out!
(confused? follow the links...)
The Cisco interview went pretty well, although if I get through to the next round, it means I'm very good at bluffing. The job sounds horrific... not my cup of tea at all! Although I was amused to watch the 'sponsored by Cisco' episode of 24 later that evening...
I'm flying out to England for a month tomorrow morning, so if you need me, it'll be; english mobile, email and sporadic msn/yahoo.
I'll try and give people as much warning of my imminent arrival as possible... Here's a heads-up to the people in Southampton: I'm arriving tomorrow.
My itinerary should be always available here. I'm aiming to keep it as up-to-date as possible.
(21/03/06)
I've since been informed that it is perhaps geekier to be a geek without feeling the need to do a computer science degree. Well, sniff, if you will be like that. Just so long as people don't start asking me to fix their computers.
But anyway, the point of this broadcast is to say: ta-da - more gifs are up, giving you a glimpse into the exciting (don't laugh, I like it!) world of computational fluid dynamics. More to the point, Computational Gasdynamics, but that's splitting hairs and has to do with the speed of flow and compressibility issues.
Aaaanyway. Herein lie some groovy 'videos'. Two show the thinking process of the computer when it gets it 'right' and another will make all mesh specialists feel secure in their jobs, haha.
(16/03/06)
Now I rather imagine that most of you already know I have a high level of geekiness within me. To be fair a rather large clue was me rambling about Battlestar Galactica (awesome, stunning, superb season finale... knocked SG1 and SG-A into a hat... although the SG-A finale was a lame damb squib). Aaaaanyway. I've always known in my heart that I'm not a very good geek, but I'm shocked to find I'm apparently a very good nerd. Huh.
On a related note, I was chatting with someone today. They asked "are you a computer scientist?" to which I replied: "no, aerospace". "Ah" said he, "you're the geek".
Huh!??
Ours is not to reason why.
Project due in on wednesday, and I'm back to the traditional levels of Microsoft Word dislike. It's amazing I've not got around to finding a latex wysiwyg editor yet. Like I said, not a very good geek.

I'm both excited by and sad about the upcoming season finale of Battlestar Galactica, although to tell the truth my mind has been on more important things of late!
Mostly, against my own common sense, I've been stressing about exams, coursework and booking flights back for easter. As of this morning, I can now relate with some relief, that I have all of my exam dates, and am about to book flights.
My exams will all take place in the last week of April, thus freeing me to spend a good month in England revising and visiting you guys (cue: evil laughter).
I shall be flying out to Heathrow on the 22nd March (yes, after my birthday... that shouldn't surprise any of you). I will then (accomodation providing) stay in Southampton until the 24th, having the interview on the 23rd. I'm flying back to Stuttgart around the 19th April, and will be travelling around the country inbetween. I'll try and keep y'all as informed as possible!
Last sunday was a delightful sunny sunday afternoon, so I went for a walk and took lots of photos of the (in some places) 10 inches of snow that resulted from the aforementioned snowing spree.
Snowman lovers look away, but here is the video of the demise of an innocent snowman... and yes, we did make sure there were no kids around to see... ;) (warning: 8.93MB)
(08/03/06)
Perhaps my griping about the un-german-ness of the weather had some effect, it's put on an impressive show in the last few days! I know laying 2 inches of snow that then melts completely five hours later has happened in England on occasion, but the to snow again over night and smother the world in white? I've only ever seen this type of snow on the top of mountains before... feather light, yet swiftly laying new snow. As I went to get my breakfast this morning, I took pics that are here and here. If you're bored of looking at photos of snow, wait until summer and then look again :D
And a very Happy Birthday to my Grandpa :)

I've uploaded a few pics to the gallery, from my recent trip to Southampton.
Those who've been following my agenda will know the trip was necessitated by an interview with Qinetiq at Boscombe Down. I'm happy to say that I've got through to the next round! They liked me enough to invite me back to an assessment centre, meaning I'll definately be back in England on the 23rd March.
(27/02/06)
There's something dreamlike about a blustery, sweet scented wind and rain falling from a blue sky. With birds adding a chorus of voices, I can almost place myself on the edge of a bluff in the North York Moors... and okay, so they're the wrong birds and I'm in the wrong country, but Germany has been displaying some distinctly British weather recently.
I've updated the projects page of this website to include some of the work I've done this year - translation = a new video of fluid flow doing pretty things.
And it's finally happened - life has conspired to corner me into the position where I have to make a decision... PhD or a job? If anyone wants to make my mind up for me, please feel free!!! (note: I only have interviews for jobs, not job offers, so all may sort itself out yet... hopefully...)
(18/02/06)
Because a girlfriend's work is never done, I've added a "James" version of this website (in addition to the German version).
The practical upshot of which, is that if you're on a slow connection, and don't want the background, go to that version.
Occasionally he might have good ideas that filter through to here (like the random quotes and the archiving of old comments), but I take all comments/suggestions as they come.
I now have some definate (I've booked the flights) dates for my visit to England.
I'm flying into Heathrow on the 22nd and back on the 26th. Which likely means I'll be in Southampton from the 23rd to the 25th. (hope that's okay Shiv!)

My flying trip to England last weekend was much needed, although the flights were delayed both ways due to fog and freezing coniditons... funfunfun, but very pretty.
I've got an interview with Qinetiq on the 24th February, which heralds a trip to Southampton! So, all you people who've been promising to have a coffee with me: beware!
So that half answers the question of my whereabouts in the near future - further details are in the FAQ section.
My graduation date is provisionally set on Tuesday 25th July, however that may change to some time in September.
Oh, and I've changed the layout of the Germany folder in the Gallery - much less cluttered now. All the links should still work, but if you find a duff link from my website, give me a shout :)
(08/02/06)
More pictures up. Photos of a skitrip to Oberstdorf in the car, and a second trip this weekend when my sister and my dad visited. We stayed in a guest house, which was nice as we got to have a yummy meal and didn't have to stress about rushing for a train!
Heather has more photos of her visit than me here.
I also knocked together a page for my grandparents' surnames. It'll be a bit slow, so apologies for that.
And I also apologise for the backlog of journal entries that have yet to be uploaded - I need to assuage the guilt factor before working on them, so it might be a while before they get finished...

In my browsings through the hinternet, I came accross this website, where you can find out the distribution of people in Great Britain with your surname! So I plugged in Gray and here are the results for 1998 and (if you click on the picture) 1881 :) neat!
Alas, lots of other people also think it's neat, so you may have to try a few times to get through.

I've put a few more pictures from around the campus up, and can sadly report that, although people were playing icehockey on the pond only 2 days ago, it is now melted and slushy.
I did my first ever presentation in German in Germany today, and it went pretty well! I rushed a bit, but we gave a comprehensive report which meant no awkward questions at the end!
And how weird is the spelling of awkward!!??
Heeheehee, I like neat effects... I added the floating back/up buttons (code from here). Hopefully I'll be able to alter the code so it never obscures the index, but for now, it's as is. Heeheehee.

Today I woke to a snowy winter wonderland :) Fog descended in the afternoon and I decided to share the resulting prettiness with you in the form of a campus tour. I took pictures on my camera (so alas not great quality snaps) on my way back from my lecture. And yes, my hand got very cold in the process!!
The tour lies here and if someone reminds me, I'll do something similar when the season changes!
Whilst I was at it, I found a couple of snaps taken in England - (including one of a turbine engine being ferried along a motorway!) and some that have been sitting on my phone for a while. They are here and here (at the bottom of the page) respectively.

I never thought I'd say it, but here goes: I am completely sick of the sound of Aeroplanes.
Seriously, hearing a plane go overhead every 4 minutes really has that effect.
So Windsor is one place I hope never to live. Though I'm assured it's something you can get used to...
Aaaaanyway. People never seem to read the FAQ section, so here's when I'm going back to Germany: Sunday the 8th January.
And no, I don't really want to go back.

Next weekend migrated to yesterday and I've now sorted the navigation buttons in the journal section (yey!). I've also added a new question and updated some answers in the faq page.
As I got all nostalgic when doing my washing the other day, I've added a new poem called The Laundry Poem to the collection.
What is it about autumn that makes me so nostalgic???
I wrote it, I think, Spring '03. I was sat in the laundry room trying to read through lecture notes, and this poem got written instead. Must have been fascinating stuff I was reading! ;)

Okay, so after a moderate amount of hair tearing, I've switched the journal section of this website to php. There are glitches - I will hopefully sort these next weekend. Mountbatton burnt down on sunday (30th October), which is rather alarming!
If you click on the picture, it'll take you to the ECS website with photos taken by Adrian Pickering. Zepler is naturally shut, as well as the Murray building.
For those who aren't in the know about southampton university, ECS is the electronics and computer science department of Southampton University. Mountbatton housed one of the world's leading reasearch units - including fibre optics and chip building facilities.
There are some more pics here and here, curtesy of Roo and Peter respectively. The BBC news report also has some alarming pics of the fire in action. Here's the university website's official information about it.

Something that came up in conversation, and I thought I'd mention, is that I've developed (developed, such a fancy word!) this website with Firefox in mind. I rarely check that it's all working in Internet Explorer, so if you come accross problems with the website, and are using IE (though why you would, I don't know), please let me know!
I've added a couple of new drawings to the collection of sketches :) Funny how you find time to draw when lectures start again...
Sorry the pictures are dark, in the absence of a scanner, I took a picture with my camera.

A second trip to the Volksfest

And some photos from around Vahingen

In order to honour the splendid arrival of autumn, I have put up a poem I wrote whilst walking back from lectures down Burgess road in a few octobers ago. Not one of my best, but the only one I have related to autumn! I love this time of the year, it has a unique smell and crispness that is beautifully framed by the soft autumn sun.
Okay, so going to lectures in the dark isn't so fun, but 1) that's the Germans' fault for having lectures at 08:00 and 2) you do get to see the sunrise...
Okay okay, so getting back in the dark isn't so fun either - but I do love it when winter is in the air, and you can almost catch a hint of Christmas excitement...
(20/10/05)
I went to the Volksfest in Bad Canstatt (Stuttgart) last night, much fun! Photos were, alas, taken on my phone due to me forgetting my camera.
I forgot to say, Pictures of Mouse's 21st party (I think) arrived with the parents, and are now online. There's also a few snaps of the trip to Kew pumping station.
I found out yesterday that Runrig are coming to Stuttgart on the 1st December, so if anyone wants to combine a visit with what's most likely to be an amazing concert, let me know!!

On sunday I went to an Autumn market and a Picasso exhibition in the Suttgart city gallery. Paid €8 to find out I don't especially like Picasso. Oh well, at least I now know.

Despite pressure from unnamed sources, I shall not be installing blog software. I will instead learn php in the magical future of "at some point". My website's hit the point where not learning php would be silly.
Thankyou all for your emails, they're much welcome. Keep them coming! :)

I have started a journal of sorts, that is not a diary. And if you all start insisting it is, then I'll stop writing, because I have a thing against diaries.
Hmm, which you might do if you find it boring.
Anyhoo, I shall backdate it to the first and hopefully keep it reasonably up to date. Saves on clogging up this main page, me writing endless emails and you being spammed when y'all couldn't care less ;)
I gotta go buy a textbook now, I'll email more details of my address etc soon :)
(12/09/05)
I am currently sat, desperately trying to think of what I've forgotten to pack.
Before you all shout "Passport", yes I have my passport.
I have answered a few questions regarding my German "trip" here, and no doubt this section will grow as the questions roll in.
Current expectation is that I'll be in a room with internet access, so I shall be able to keep in touch with only a little effort.
It's also worth pointing out that my Uni email address (as with all my email addresses) will still work just fine.
And so, as uncertainty faces me, I shall try not to think that I'll be on a plane in 12 hours, and think instead of beer, skiing and ryebread toast.
Laters dudes :)

Nostalgia hit with a bang, as we met up in Southampton this weekend.
On Saturday, we did a bit of a pubcrawl:

Aaanyhoo, don't anyone forget to be in Southapmton on the 20th August! Be there or be a squashed cuboid.

I went to my cousin Alistair's wedding on saturday. The pictures of my wait at the train station on the way, and the event itself are here. It was a lovely day, and it was nice to see all the relatives again!
For those of you who wished to know, I took pictures of my current housemates and these pictures lie here. Lying within are also these photos of a trip to a Sushi restaurant, bar and pub.

Lots of questions about my work *preens*
At the moment, I'm doing an intern-sized job on the A400M, and actually enjoying it! Shock!
Pictures from my weekend at Mark's house are here. Didn't get many pics, noteably I didn't get any of the croquet game!
(21/07/05)
I have dial-up, yey! So I'll be on msn for more than no hours a day :)
(13/07/05)
Hello :) Work is going all fine and dandy :) No regular hinternet access alas :(
So I thought I'd say a hello to everyone and mention that I'm playing rather too much Final Fantasy to work on the projects I said I'd work on. So the Purity Test amusement and the Address list may take a while to come along!
Anyway, I'm off to play some more games now :)

The first day of the Flight Test Course today :)
Photos from the flight are here. This was just a straight flight to look at drag.
(20/06/05)
The belated birthday party of their Royal Highnesses Princess Alison and Princess Heather was much fun!! The photos are here :)
(19/06/05)
Hello again! Exams well and truly over, yey! I'm now working at Airbus, tho I'm currently sat in Sunny Southampton (see FAQ for whyfors and whatnots).
I have added Pictures of my trip to Portsmouth Historical Dockyard. The website for the Dockyard is here, it's not a cheap day out, but it's so well worth it! We ran out of time to do everything, but with the 'see everything' ticket, you can take a year seeing everything!
Also, til October or so (don't quote me on this date) they've got one of the sails the Victory used in the battle of Trafalgar on display!!
The Grad ball was amazing! Best ball I've been to! My photos lie here, and Shiv also has some nice pictures here.
James has copies of my photos in his Gallery here and also has photos of the ball the night before.
Pictures of the post exam Tennyson road bbq lie here.
(18/06/05)
I've added an FAQ section, and added a link in the bar to the quiz results. Am going to bed now, so much for getting lots of sleep!

My daddy visited this afternoon and drove away with the major contents of my room! :'(
Despite the emptiness, my room still resembles a library after a tornado walks in the door... proof lies here
Have just had three exams in three days, so I'm taking the evening off! Have added more pictures to the album of Lucy C's party (thanks again to James for scanning in the photos!).
You might have also noticed I've added a page of things I've made, simply because I found the pictures and someone asked about them... gotta love the internet! :)
Ahh well, trial license for LightPad 4.1 has run out. It was nice while it lasted :)
(04/06/05)
I know I said radio silence, but people have been asking my Purity Test score. A shockingly low 68.6% :s
(30/05/05)
Thanks to James' sterling efforts to avoid revision, some photos from the 2nd year have been scanned in, woo!
Most of them are from Lucy's fantasy dress party for her 20th :)
*yawn* Time for my admin admonishing... Sorry, but as relatives and the like will visit my Gallery, absolutely no swearing will be allowed in the comments. At all. That's just how it is. And yes, German swearwords count as swearwords as I speak German.
End of lecture!
Ho hum, radio silence will now probably be observed from now until end of exams at least.
For those unaware, I shall be in Bristol over the summer, working at Airbus, before jetting off to Germany (Stuttgart Uni to be precise) to finish my degree. I hope I'll have broadband in Germany, but I know I won't at Bristol (except at work), so email me to keep in touch!

Woo Hoo! I found out which D&D character I am, lol! Also, which Fantasy/Sci-fi character I am... enjoy!
(28/05/05)
Photos of the last ever Tennyson Road house party *sob* are here, be warned, some of them are not pretty!
Oh, and take a few minutes out to enter the 'which legs are male, which are female' competition. Hee hee :D
Help with names would be appreciated, I don't know quite a few of them...
(22/05/05)
I've had more than a few enquiries as to how I've gone about making this site. A normal person would add an faq section, but as I'm not, I've answered questions below. Hope they help!
The main pages, and everything except the Forum and Gallery, I have written by myself (just look at the mess the html's in!).
I started out using Notepad (hardcore!) but now use LightPad 4.1, which is basically Notepad but with pretty colours.
The Gallery comes from here and the Forum comes from here.
Hosting-wise, Dave kindly bought the domain name (lucygray.co.uk) for me for my birthday, and is now hosting this entire site on his webserver.
By the way, in case of broken links, etc, emails sent to webmaster [at] lucygray.co.uk will find their way to me.
Oh, and I've added a link to the ongoing Penguin Saga :) Started by Rich (One of James' Bristol friends), and added to by other people and me. Due to, i suspect, dissertations and exams, it hasn't been added to recently. But still a fun read!

Hello again! German exam went fine (yay!)
Photos of my trip to Austria, Heather's trip to Southampton and my trip to Reading are buried in the first year album, so I thought I'd give a hand with the links :)
Pictures of Greenbelt '03 and Kirsty's wedding have their own albums.
Of interest might be the Greenbelt site, I love going and it's very sad I can't go this year! :'(
(19/05/05)
Hello again! My viva's soon (next week) and I've a German exam tomorrow. So, as a revision aid, I've scanned in lots of photos!
There are pictures from the glorious first year (Glen Photos!) And some from the 2nd year, eg Paintballing, the Pure Spring Ball (held in a fort!)... etc...
(18/05/05)
As my coursework deadline isn't close enough for the panic to have set in, I've made a fair few changes to the layout.
Should now work much better for people with bigger screens :)
Also, after a few requests, the original background to this site is now available in the pictures page.
Okay, so I've now changed the font because of huge political pressure. You're all boring!! I'll turn it bright pink shall I?
To be honest, I don't care if anyone can read it... why would anyone want to read this page!?
;)
(10/05/05)
Thanks to a billion complaints (okay, two comments) I've changed the order of my comments.
Now new through to old!
I'm not changing the font tho :p I like it.
(09/05/05)
Party pictures here! Sorry for the delay.
Also, apologies I didn't manage to get a picture of Jules! Most remiss of me!
(08/05/05)
As I sit here, gobsmacked because el landlord is cutting the grass, I am reminded to mention that the piccies of Jules & Matt's 21st at Jesters will be in the gallery asap :)
(07/05/05)
My dress arrived! (A while ago actually, but hey, dissertation!);) here's hoping there's not too many repeats at the ball!
Of course I shall look the best if there are *preens*
Gotta love internet shopping!
But then anything that means I don't have to traipse round shops gets my vote!
(06/05/05)
I sincerely hope you all voted! And yey for a reduced majority!
Hopefully means that parliament will put them through hell over the stupid security bill...
(05/05/05)
Groovy links effect on this page now!! Woo! Ooh, and twee gifs above. I got them from Here
(30/04/05)
Check out the groovy links effects on my project page!! Courtesy of Dave :D
(28/04/05)
My ballgown for the Graduation ball should be arriving soon, but here's a sneaky peek :D
(28/04/05)

With the dissertation deadline whistling ever closer, panic is inevitable. Still, at least I have some results, lol. Here are some videos of vortex shedding, should you wish to see. They're around 11MB each, sorry. 100v.mpg is the prettiest :)
(26/04/05)
I was ambushed today by my housemates bearing gifts! Unusual for us all to be in the house at the same time, hence the lateness of the birthday presents :)
Fantastic presents, one of which (a very cool book) means I will now get no work done today, sigh...
A lovely photo of my amazing friends here :)
(19/04/05)
I've put up two new albums in the Gallery, one of Gill's 18th and one of my trip to Finland. If you look closely at me on the Finland trip, you might even spot my natural hair-colour!! *gasp*
(14/04/05)
Pictures now up of the first picnic of the year at Eastleigh Lakeside Railway! Woo! It was mostly sunny, though cold when the clouds came.
We went on a steam train ride!!!
(10/04/05)
Easter photos now up in the gallery.
This is a hopefully an 'improvement' to this page as per what I envisaged
Any suggestions/comments, let me know!
(28/03/05)
Plus, apologies to those with fancy mega resolutions screen... I know this doesn't work well for you. Serves you right for having expensive stuff!:p
The Gallery is now up - and the pics I took on my camera at my party now viewable.
Unfortunately I left other photos of the party in soton!
If you'd like me to host an 'album' for you - just ask! :)
(27/03/05)
For those of you who'd like to, here lies a forum for theological/philosophical ramblings.
Yes you have to register, but I'm the admin person so if I like you I'll let you on ;) hee hee!
German Stuff lies here.
Now up and running with full Portfolio!!
(18/03/2005)
This poem is a random poem to test the page,or you can download the file here.
Here are some pictures I've drawn... no prizes for guessing who they represent...
And here are some pictures I knocked up in Corel Photo Paint ages ago.
Here's the very cool webpage of Roo (who incidentally let me use the clock)... some groovy pics n random stuff :)
Really don't visit here as it's one of those lame pages about the author of the site.
It's up to see if it works.
In my defence I made it YEARS ago!
Matt's rather shocking revelation! (not for the faint hearted)
